The Christian Recreation Program (CRP) is a free summer program filled with fun activities and Christian education for children ages 5 to 13. It runs every summer on the grounds of Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church, from 9am to noon, Monday to Thursday.

Who We Are
-
A Legacy of Faith and Fun: Founded in 1958 by Walter Kenyon, a devoted father and minister, the Christian Recreation Program began as simple family gatherings focused on prayer, Bible reading, and joyful play. Neighborhood children soon joined, sparking over 60 years of community outreach.
-
Rooted in Gospel Fellowship: Now a cherished ministry of Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church (established by Rev. Kenyon in 1975), our program is built on 85 acres of donated land, providing a spacious home for spiritual growth and recreation.
-
Community-Driven Ministry: Supported by generations of dedicated directors, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of children, we continue to serve families with unwavering passion and God's provision.

What We Do
-
Enriching Summer Experiences: We offer a vibrant summer recreation program that combines fun activities, play, and fellowship to strengthen spiritual lives and build lasting connections.
-
Welcoming All: Open to children and families from the community, we create an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy time together while growing in faith.
-
Holistic Outreach: Through games, shared experiences, and biblical teachings, we provide resources and opportunities for families to deepen their relationship with God and one another.

Our Goals
-
Share the Gospel Boldly: Grounded in timeless truths—such as the Bible as the inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17), Jesus as the only Savior (John 14:6), and Jesus as Lord (Philippians 2:10-11)—we aim to proclaim the message of salvation with confidence.
-
Plant Seeds for Generations: Our mission is to foster spiritual growth in the current generation while sowing seeds of faith that will bring eternal hope to future ones.
-
Build Lasting Conviction: We strive to equip participants for every good work, encouraging a life of grace, truth, and community impact.

There is so much that I love about CRP! I think the draw for the campers is that they have the ability to choose what they want to do. ... They have freedom to just run around and be kids. I love that CRP was a huge part of my childhood, and I get to share that with my kids now.

We provide a safe place for kids to play and learn about God. I especially saw it last year when I was the game room area director; I enjoyed playing games with the kids, because they always bring energy to playing. I have also enjoyed seeing kids growing up from when I first had them on the playground five years ago.

I am amazed at the impact a sanctuary in such a chaotic world can have on a child…. CRP represents a place where they can come to be safe, active, and uplifted by the message of
God’s grace, worth found in Jesus’ sacrifice, and strength in the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
