ADULT MINISTRIES
There are many opportunities to connect with and grow alongside other believers at Gospel Fellowship Church, whatever your circumstances. Our adult ministries encourage spiritual growth and fellowship as we encourage and admonish one another in the faith, working to develop disciples who are spiritually reproductive, engaged in ministry, fervent in prayer and obedient to God's Word. To join any of these ministries, contact the church office.
Fellowship Groups
Relationships between Christians are a natural extension of Christ’s love for His church and a big part of our heritage as a congregation - after all, we have “fellowship” in our name. One way to deepen those relationships is in small groups, where we can study God’s word together in a more intimate setting. When we’re in a small gathering, we can just relax and enjoy each other’s fellowship. The groups typically meet periodically on Sunday evenings in members’ homes, and are open to everyone.
Widows
Obeying the Biblical command to “care for the widow…”, the Widows’ Ministry works to come alongside those grieving the loss of a spouse, helping with their practical needs but also the the spiritual and emotional needs that come with grief and the adjustment to an entirely different life. Founded in 2008 as an arm of the Deacons’ Ministry, the group aims to support not only the widows of Gospel Fellowship but also those in the greater community, whether by friendship (built through monthly activities, notes and cards, and visits to those who cannot leave their homes), or by practical support (help finding professional services, for example, or alerting the deacons to a particular need). The group also looks for opportunities to serve the church, such as decorating the sanctuary for holidays.
Men
The Men’s Ministry aims to support and encourage men in their walk to become faithful followers of Jesus Christ through regular Bible studies and periodic special events. By supporting and encouraging one another and learning about God’s Word together, the men of the church can strengthen their families and the congregation as a whole. Special events are scheduled regularly and have included bowling, cornhole tournaments, golf outings, paintball, and shooting sporting clays.
Women
The women's ministry at Gospel Fellowship seeks to equip and encourage women in their walk with Christ personally and in extending His kingdom throughout their lives through regular Bible studies and periodic special events. Several Bible studies are held throughout the week, either at the church or in homes, and many women read the Bible together through the year (see the 2022 Bible Reading Plan).
Special events include the King’s Daughters’ Tea and an Advent celebration in November or December. Other ministries include Heart-to-Heart and Secret Pals, both of which seek to build relationships between older and younger women or girls. Other groups meet regularly for various activities, such as knitting and crocheting or exercise.
